Delete Your Account

1. Deleting From Inside the App

Open the Rowanstead mobile app, go to Household, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm twice. The deletion happens as soon as you confirm the second time.

2. What Is Deleted

• Your account: your email address, your name, and your login credentials, removed from our self-hosted Ory Kratos identity store.
• Your devices: every push notification token registered to your phones, so those devices stop receiving your household's reminders.

3. What Happens to Your Household

Tasks, recurring reminders, and the activity history are shared family records rather than one person's, so what happens to them depends on who is left.

• If other members remain, the household and all of its tasks, recurring reminders, and activity history are kept, so the people still using it do not lose their records. A single line is added to the activity history noting that you left.
• If you are the last member, the household is deleted along with every task, recurring reminder, and activity entry belonging to it. Nothing is kept.

4. Timing and Recovery

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period, no waiting time, and no way for us to restore a deleted account or a deleted household. Signing up again with the same email address creates a new, empty account.

5. If You Cannot Access the App

If you cannot sign in, email hello@rowanstead.app from the address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm the request before acting on it, and the outcome is the same as deleting from inside the app.
